Death of a prophet

It was a sad day today I got a text message at 0700 to inform me hat President Hinckley had passed away during the night. He was such a nice man although he had great authority he always spoke from the heart. It was sad to see him missing his wife Marjorie after she passed away but he still travelled the world to meet the saints. He has been president for 12 years+ and during that time temples have sprung up all over the earth, church membership has blossomed and the bar has been raised. We have had 'The Family' and 'the Living Testimony' we have also received new teaching aids and we have used the internet more. He has warned us of the dangers of pornography but he always warned in a loving way. Kim and I were lucky in that our first trip to Salt Lake City we were able to attend the Solemn Assembly where he was presented to members for our first sustaining vote for him as prophet. that same year he came to Dublin for a meeting with the Irish saints, we were doubly blessed.

This is our first blog and we have to thank the songbird for putting the idea into our minds. We are going to see our grandchildren tomorrow and we are excited as Mark has just started nursery school this week and he really enjoys it. Our baby boy is growing up. This was Mark just before his first birthday.
